Star Trek: Discovery

  • Gimme Some Space

This week, it's time to give me some space! You could give me a space show, like the fourth season of Star Trek Discovery on Paramount+ or the Cowboy Bebop live action show on Netflix. Or maybe you just need some distance from your family, your past, or your talkative new partner like Hawkeye on Disney+.

  • Hope

As we record this, we're a little under a week out from a pretty big election. And elections are about hope, and so is this week's selection of TV and other streaming content. The question of whether the Federation can return in a galaxy without hope in 'Star Trek Discovery' on CBS All Access. A reminder of the hope that was Aaron Sorkin's stock in trade, on a 'West Wing Special' on HBO Max and a new movie, 'Trial of the Chicago 7', on NETFLIX. And the reminder that hope can mean competing idealism and atrocities in the name of idealism as we talk about the second half of Amazon Prime's 'Utopia'.

    VOTE AGAINST HATE.

16:04-36:26 Star Trek Discovery (CBS All-Access)
36:26-47:44 A West Wing Special (HBO Max)
47:44-56:08 Trial of the Chicago 7 (NETFLIX)
    56:08-1:10:35 Utopia (PRIME)
